Description
The Dead Air Wolverine PBS-1 is a purpose-built AK and Combloc rifle suppressor designed around the mounting, alignment, and gas-system challenges that make Kalashnikov-pattern rifles difficult to suppress. Its external profile pays tribute to the original Soviet PBS-1, but the internal construction and mounting system are modern Dead Air engineering intended for a broad range of compatible AK-family rifles.
Rugged Steel Construction & AK-Specific Mounting
The Wolverine uses durable stainless-steel components with Cobalt 6 baffles and measures approximately 7.4 inches long. Weight ranges from roughly 19.8 to 24.4 ounces depending on the installed thread adapter and collar. The suppressor ships with an M14x1LH thread insert and locking collar, the common AKM thread pattern, while additional user-changeable inserts and collars are available for other Combloc and rifle thread standards.
Low Back Pressure & Bore-Misalignment Tolerance
Dead Air engineered the Wolverine around the realities of AK rifles, including generous gas systems and muzzle threads that may be less concentric than those found on precision bolt guns. The internal geometry is intended to balance muzzle suppression with lower added backpressure and provide greater tolerance for imperfect alignment than a conventional tight-bore rifle suppressor. Dead Air rates the Wolverine through 7.62x54R and lists no minimum barrel restriction.
